6 apples, unpeeled, cored and thinly sliced
4 tsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. allspice
½ tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp. cardamom
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
2 cups rolled oats (gluten free)
6 Tbsp. brown rice flour or sorghum flour
6 Tbsp. organic butter softened (could use ghee)
- Preheat oven to 3750F.
- Place the apples in a 8*8 Pyrex glass baking dish. Sprinkle the lemon juice and 1 tsp. of the spice blend over the apples.
- In a medium bowl, add the maple syrup, oats, flour, butter and the remaining spice blend. Stir until well blended. Spoon the mixture over the apples.
- Bake for 45 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
- This recipe could be used as a yummy breakfast item as well.
